Helen also works with Green and Away, a small charity which is (as far as we know) Europe’s only environmentally friendly tented conference centre.
We are a small charity which works to support other charities and small organisations working for environmental and social change, by hosting conferences. We are Europe’s only environmentally sustainable, tented, conference centre. The charity is run by a team of Trustees, who are also the management. Helen is coordinator for the charity.
Every summer the trustees and a group of about 40 volunteers build the conference centre on a field in Worcestershire and then run it for about 4 weeks before taking it down and packing it all away at the end of the summer. We can host conferences for between 50 and 140 delegates from about £26 per person per day including three meals a day, all teas, homemade cake and homemade bread. There is accommodation in luxury rent-a-tents and yurts for about 40 people. We welcome people who want to work with us as volunteers.
